Private Hypnobirthing Courses
Supporting expecting parents in and around Buckinghamshire
Hypnobirthing is a holistic antenatal training programme which teaches you how to reduce fear, stress and anxiety associated with childbirth and how to become calm and confident in your ability to birth your baby in the right way for you. The programme includes both antenatal education - teaching you what happens to your body and what to expect - as well as a toolkit of techniques for labour. I will teach you how to master controlled breathing, visualisation and relaxation, which will enable you to focus calmly on your body and your baby as you give birth.
The word ‘hypnobirthing’ comes from the concept of self-hypnosis - the ability to relax and control your mind and body and move with the natural flow of labour. Learning hypnobirthing will allow you to feel positive, prepared and ready to embrace the experience.
Just some of the benefits of hypnobirthing are:
- It can help to reduce adrenaline, a stress hormone which impedes labour and to increase oxytocin, the ‘happy hormone’ which progresses it, making a quicker and simpler birth more likely
- It makes a drug-free birth more likely, meaning you and your baby will both be alert and ready to start creating a magical bond from the moment he or she arrives
- It can work alongside other forms of pain management if they’re needed, and in any setting, whether at home, or in hospital
- It allows your birth partner to take an active role in your pregnancy and labour and strengthens their bond with both you and the baby
- It will help you feel confident in your ability to have a positive birth experience, even if you have had a traumatic birth before
